ITERAHERO — Greenhouse Interface

A smart-greenhouse platform for monitoring sensors and controlling operations. As internship team lead and front-end developer, I worked on the interface and its real-time integration.

My role

Internship Team Lead & Front-End Developer

I worked with a multidisciplinary team serving field operators and researchers. My contribution centered on the front end; MQTT, backend services, and robotics form the wider team system.

My contribution

  • Led the internship team while contributing front-end implementation
  • Built sensor-monitoring and control interfaces with React, Inertia, and Tailwind
  • Integrated real-time updates through WebSockets
  • Developed automation flows from the UI perspective
  • Collaborated on API and MQTT integration and worked on PWA caching

My focus: Bringing real-time sensor information and operational controls into a usable interface.

[01] Story

Greenhouse operations involve continuous sensor readings, actuator controls, and recurring tasks. ITERAHERO brings these into an integrated platform. I contributed to version 3 through front-end development and internship-team leadership, working across software and field-operation needs.

Problem [02]

Operators need to follow changing sensor readings and use controls without losing context. The interface must work with real-time services while keeping monitoring and automation flows understandable.

[03] Approach

Goals

Stage

Make greenhouse monitoring and control available through a connected interface.

Challenges

Stage

Bridging real-time software behavior with the needs of operators and researchers.

Context

01

Worked with field operators, researchers, and the project team around monitoring and control needs.

Direction

02

Built dashboard and automation interfaces around the information and actions available to operators.

Implementation

03

Implemented React, Inertia, and Tailwind interfaces and integrated real-time updates through WebSockets.

Delivery

04

Worked on PWA loading and caching within the wider platform delivery.

Collaboration

05

Collaborated on the connections between front-end controls, APIs, and MQTT-backed operations.

Result [04]

My work contributed monitoring screens, control flows, and real-time updates to the team’s integrated greenhouse platform.

What this work brings together

The interface connects software behavior with physical operations. Understanding what an operator needs to see and control is as relevant as the technology that transports the sensor data.
